Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Psychiatric Care Specialist to join our
team at MetroWest Medical Center. This individual will provide
psychiatric care to adult, adolescent, and child patients in a
variety of settings. The ideal candidate will have a strong
background in psychology and experience working with diverse
populations.Key Responsibilities:1. Milieu Therapy: Collaborate
with nurses to develop and implement milieu treatment plans,
providing individual and group counseling sessions to patients.
Participate in milieu therapy sessions and lead or assist in group
activities.2. Assessment and Treatment: Conduct initial
psychological assessments and develop treatment plans. Collaborate
with multidisciplinary teams to diagnose and treat patients.
Coordinate and implement various aspects of the milieu environment
to provide a therapeutic experience for patients.3. Supportive
Care: Provide supportive care to patients, including conversation,
recreational activities, and basic living skills. Assist patients
with bathing, eating, and other daily living activities as
needed.4. Documentation and Reporting: Record patient information
and prepare regular reports describing their mental status and
functioning. Document significant interactions and communications
with patients.5. Education and Support: Provide education and
support to family members and significant others regarding patient
status. Work with outside agencies to obtain or disseminate
information on individual patients.QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree
in psychology or a related field preferred. Bilingual preferred
(Spanish/English). BLS required.WORKING CONDITIONS:Patient care
environment. Periodic risk from combative or abusive patients.
Regular walking and standing during normal course of duties.
