Attention current bachelor's students who love tackling new challenges. Clean Harbors is looking for a Government Affairs Intern. The internship program is designed for students interested in maintaining a sustainable environment. Students will be responsible for tasks associated with government contracts, proposals, and general administrative support. Interns can expect to participate in networking events and complete a final presentation at the conclusion of the program. We are searching for a reliable and team-oriented individual with an excellent commitment to safety to join our growing team during the Summer of 2025!

  Responsibilities
  
  
  • Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner always.
  • Work as a liaison between Safety Kleen Sales and Clean Harbors field teams with assistance from lead Gov't team.
  • Assign accurate LOB's and the correct team to all Gov't Opportunities.
  • Generate or assist with quotes to customers based on input received from SK Sales.
  • Supports all aspects Gov't accounts; customer services, while managing and performs customer set-up and all administrative tasks
  • Monitor and track Gov't data as opportunities are processed.
  • Resolves product or service problems by clarifying the customer's complaint; determining the cause of the problem, selecting and explaining the best solution to solve the problem
  • Manage customer PO details per the Company Policy
  • Performs contract implementation and facilities all contract and reporting deliverables
  • Assist with new profiles, re-certifications and amendments and ensure that they are scanned if necessary
  • Performs other duties and tasks as assigned by management and required by the needs of the Clean Harbors business;
    
    Qualifications
    
    What does it take to work for Clean Harbors?
    
    --- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent
    
    --- Must be pursuing an associate's or bachelor's degree in an applicable discipline (Business, Management, Public Administration, Public Policy, Environmental Policy) and be in their Junior or Senior year.
    
    --- Must have a valid Driver's License and reliable transportation
    
    --- Successfully complete a pre-employment background check, drug test, and physical
