Job Summary:The Manager of Day Treatment's role is to oversee the
clinical operations of the Seeds of Change Day Treatment/IOP
program while providing low-barrier, on-demand and ongoing group
substance use disorder(SUD) treatment to guests. This includes
balancing supervisory and direct service duties, supporting the
Associate Director of Behavioral Health in the clinical supervision
of staff and interns in addition to providing direct service of
guests, carrying a small caseload of individual guests and
providing group therapy treatment within the Seeds of Change
program. The Manager of Day Treatment is a key participant in the
agency's continued development of Seeds of Change as part of our
menu of SUD-related services that currently include harm reduction
for those who are still actively using and peer-based recovery
support for individuals in recovery, providing thoughtful oversight
of programmatic needs in alignment with SFH values. An important
part of this work will be focused on engagement, developing a
presence in SFH milieu spaces where guests gather, to build
therapeutic connections and encourage participation in treatment
services, when appropriate and indicated. The Manager of Day
Treatment will work collaboratively with an integrated team of
providers at SFH to support and stabilize our guests across all
facets of their lives.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Oversees the daily workflow of assigned staff and interns.
- Interviews, selects, trains staff and interns.
- Provides weekly, 1:1 clinical supervision to assigned staff and
interns no less than 1 hour/week or as otherwise required for
licensure.
- Facilitates weekly, group based clinical supervision of
assigned staff and interns.
- In conjunction with the Associate Director of Behavioral
Health, develops and implements management practices and protocols
of the Engagement Services program including but not limited to
program guidelines, funding requirements and outcomes.
- Establishes and monitors record keeping protocols, implementing
program quality assurance practices regularly and adhering to the
established quality assurance plan.?
- Provides input on the creation of the annual program budget.
Monitors all program costs and expenditures to ensure spending is
on track and within the established budget.?
- Provides constructive and timely performance
communication.
- Handles progressive warning and recommends termination of
employees in accordance with agency policies/procedures.Other
Responsibilities:
- Ensures a highly responsive model of care that welcomes people
into treatment on demand with limited barriers to access.
- Actively conducts in-reach, outreach and engagement in our
milieu spaces throughout the building to facilitate guest access to
treatment.
- Uses evidence-based techniques to provide short and long term
group therapy treatment within Seeds of Change.
- Carries a small caseload of individual guests with complex
behavioral health needs and provides them with consistent, evidence
based treatment within Seeds of Change.
- Oversees and supervises staff within the behavioral health
department, including clinicians, interns and administrative staff
as needed.
- Works within a holistic care model, collaborating closely with
other providers at SFH.
- Coordinates directly with psychiatric services to ensure
continuity of care for Seeds of Change guests.
- Conducts and documents intakes, assessments, treatment plans,
and maintains timely clinical notes.
- Supports in coordinating internal and external referrals as
needed with Harm Reduction Specialists, Case Managers, and other
team members across SFH.
- Works closely with the behavioral health and medical team at
our partner Boston Healthcare for the Homeless, including the
Office Based Addiction Treatment (OBAT) team.
- Offers clinical insight and expertise into the development of
an intensive outpatient treatment program model in pursuit of and
maintenance of licensure.
- Collaborates closely with agency leadership to develop and
maintain a sustainable, billable model for SUD treatment
services.
- Coordinates with Seeds of Change administrative staff to
develop and support referral process into the program and determine
appropriateness for LOC
- Infuses a person-centered, trauma-informed, and
recovery-oriented approach in accordance with our Philosophy of
Care.
- Adheres to agency code of conduct.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
- Master's-level clinician with independent licensure in MA
(LICSW preferred, or LCSW with expectation to secure LICSW within 6
months; LMHC considered).
- Minimum of 2 years post-graduate experience in SUD treatment,
utilizing evidence-based models for group and individual
therapy.
- Experience providing supervision and working with high-need,
vulnerable populations, particularly those experiencing
homelessness.
- Lived experience with homelessness and/or recovery is a
plus.
- Bilingual (Spanish or Haitian Creole) preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication, organizational skills,
and attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to prioritize, delegate tasks, and work well in a
fast-paced, team-oriented environment with compassion, humility,
and professionalism.
- Knowledge of person-centered, recovery-oriented, and
trauma-informed approaches, with a commitment to harm reduction
practices.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and leadership skills.
- Creativity to apply traditional treatment insights in
nontraditional settings.
- Ability to network with external organizations and strengthen
internal partnerships.
- Knowledge of Boston-based treatment providers and crisis
intervention/de-escalation techniques.
