world. The Sensor Controls & Electronics Department is seeking a
Principal Electrical Engineer with strong COTS computing and
networking background to join our Hardware and Infrastructure team
implementing the next generation RADAR solutions. This position is
for an Electrical Engineer who will work with Product Leads and
other team members on a variety of tasks related to the design and
development of systems using Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS)
computing and networking products. What You Will Do Engineer will
work as part of a highly motivated team and will collaborate with
cross-functional project teams supporting larger program or
internal research and development efforts.
- COTS hardware infrastructure system design (e.g. X86-based
processors)
- Research and selection of servers, workstations, add-in
interface cards, storage devices, and other COTS hardware
- BIOS and operating system configuration definition
- System prototyping and integration in the lab
- Support occasional domestic travel and potential international
travel This position will sit in Tewksbury, MA or the Marlborough,
MA location. Qualifications You Must Have Bachelor of Science
degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent discipline Minimum 8
years of professional experience in at least three (3) of the
following areas (an advanced degree in a related field may be
substituted for two additional years of experience):
- Experience with emerging and legacy hardware and software, such
as Unix and/or Linux operating systems
- Experience developing and implementing computing, networking,
and information technology infrastructure through a rigorous design
and documentation process
- Experience taking a system design concept from block diagram or
requirements level to developing a complete COTS-based hardware
design
- Experience with verifying designs via integration and test
plans and activities
- Experience working in a lab environment and operating standard
test equipment such as oscilloscopes, processor bus analyzers,
emulators, and data capture tools, etc.
- Experience collaborating in development with hardware
engineering disciplines, supply chain, suppliers, field
engineering, on-site installation and trades, and customers to
develop and deliver safety critical systems The ability to obtain
and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is
required. U.S. citizenship is required, asonly U.S. citizens are
eligible for a security clearance Qualifications We Prefer
- Masters degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
discipline
- Current or in-progress computing/networking certification(s)
(e.g. CCNA, AWS, CISSP)
- Experience with RADAR system hardware
- Experience with Firewall design and configuration
- Experience implementing Security Technical Implementation
guides and network hardening

website here: The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD -
203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate
representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several
