  • Salary range: $31.52 - $36.00 per hour with additional H&W = $4.93 per hour.Duty Reporting Location: Barnes Federal Building, 495 Summer Street Boston, MA 02210.SUMMARY: DAWSON Enterprise, LLC is currently seeking a qualified Area Facility Operations Specialist (AFOS) to assist the 99th Readiness Division (RD). The AFOS shall assist with the execution and implementation of a multi-faceted, comprehensive environmental base operations and sustainment program to ensure the buildings and grounds are properly monitored and maintained to meet the functional, appearance, safety, security, and environmental standards.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Weekly facility inspections and checklists.
    • Monitor physical and functional condition of building systems.
    • Identify and report deficiencies.
    • Initiate work order requests and criteria/objectives for maintenance and repair, input into CSS.
    • Coordinate and participate in occupational health and safety inspections.
    • Participate in arms room inspections.
    • Prepare, review, and submit energy efficiency and sustainable practices/recommendations.
    • Monitor and validate utility meter readings.
    • Promote energy conservation and awareness.
    • Develop quality assurance program and implement.
    • Provide quality assurance inspection and oversight for maintenance and repair and document as required.
    • Monitor facility systems.
    • Assist 99th RD DPW in implementing corrective actions, repair, and maintenance.
    • Ensure proper storage, usage, and disposal and associated documentation of hazardous materials and hazardous waste.
    • Monitor and inspect life safety, physical security, and fire prevention requirements; address deficiencies if required.
    • Respond to all information requests.
    • Attend Project Review Boards as requested.
    • Coordinate and liaise with facility coordinator, tenants, and Center Commander.
    • Documentation, Checklists, and Reports.NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Other duties as assigned.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
      • AFOS contractor must possess a minimum of a four-year degree from an accredited university in engineering, or a two-year technical trade degree in engineering, or equivalent professional training and related work experience.
      • Ability to work independently with little to no supervision.
      • Familiarity with the Microsoft Suite.
      • Current favorable National Agency Check with Inquiry (NACI), in accordance with AR 380-67.
      • Valid Driver's License, with ability to operate government-provided vehicle.
      • Excellent interpersonal skills.
      • As a condition of employment, the applicant will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening, as well as have acceptable reference and background check results to obtain access to military base. Must have reliable transportation to/from work and must be able to obtain access to military installations.COMPETENCIES:

          • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
          • While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
          • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and peripheral vision.
          • Normally works in a temperature-controlled office environment, with frequent exposure to electronic office equipment.
          • During visits to areas of operations, may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions.
