seeking a Sr. React UI / Python Developer (Fulltime and Onsite
Position in Boston) to join our team in Boston, Massachusetts
(US-MA), United States (US).Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Strong React UI/Python backend candidate preferably in
experience in financial services.
- Strong FinTech background preferably in Security Master,
Books/Accounts Master, Corp Actions, Pricing, Trade Confirmations,
Trade Settlements, Treasury Payments Operations area. It's okay for
the candidate to not know Mendix but be willing to grasp Mendix
knowledge quickly.
- Candidates who have done Java Front end work with React
Framework in Financial Services Technology (with basic AWS
knowledge) would be ideal candidates.
- Any Mendix knowledge on top of that would be an additional
plus. Essentially, we need the candidate to be able to solve
business problems; hence the interview assessment would be based on
how quickly the candidate can understand business problems and
present his/her technical skillsets (Java or Python) to solve
business needs.
- Risk & Investments Technology Team:
- The Risk & Investments Technology team is responsible for
building and maintaining the firm's strategic business system that
processes Investment Trading activity, pre and post-trade
functions, Reference data & Risk reporting.
- Key stakeholders the team works with include:
- Front office: Trading desks, portfolio managers to support
pre-trade functions to manage pipeline planning, unfunded
commitments, compliance checks, and trading activity in the
internal business systems that are integrated with upstream and
downstream vendor platforms.
- Risk team: primarily for Credit, Interest, Liability &
Liquidity risk functions and Asset liability matching.
- Middle Office: Investment Operation processes for post-trade
lifecycle activity such as Maintaining Security Master, Portfolio
and Entity master reference data, Process Corp Actions, Trade
Confirmation & Clearance, Settlement processing, process periodic
remittances until maturity.
- Back Office: Treasury Operations for Internal/External wire
payments, Cash flow projections.
- Business system Front End and Back-end server components are
built on Mendix low-code platform as containers and hosted on
Mendix cloud with integration to various other internal and
external systems including the firm's enterprise data warehouse
Redshift database for archived historical data. For compute-heavy
workloads, the team uses a distributed cloud computing grid using
Python.
- RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The candidate will be part of the Risk and Investments IT team
and primarily be responsible for leading solving business needs in
the Risk & Investments area using Mendix, Python & SQL as primary
sources of technology.
- The role will follow modern SDLC principles, test-driven
development, source code reviews, and change control standards to
maintain compliance with policies. This role requires a highly
motivated individual with strong technical ability, excellent
communication, and collaboration skills including the ability to
develop and troubleshoot a diverse range of problems and influence
stakeholders to get consensus on key decisions to ensure project
deliveries are made under tight deadlines.Required Technical
Qualifications and Experience:
- Professional Experience: At least 2 years of experience in
financial services. Basic understanding of Bonds, Loans,
Mortgage-backed securities.
- 1-2 years of recent experience in Java or Python & Database
SQLs.
- Basic AWS knowledge around ALB, Lambda, REST APIs is preferred
but not required.
- Prior experience in Mendix low code platform is preferred but
not required. Rapid Application Developer Mendix certification
would be an added plus.
- Prior experience in React User Interface would be an additional
plus.
- Interpersonal skills:

and communicate complex issues to a wide array of stakeholders with
differing levels of product experience.
- Communication: Strong communication, organizational, and
interpersonal skills with the confidence to engage professionally
and persuasively with stakeholders and senior figures within the
firm.

- Technical Skills: Expertise in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word,
Excel, and PowerPoint) required and the ability to work with
web-based applications.Basic Qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience in ReactJS.
- 5+ years of experience in Python.
- 5+ years of experience in PL/SQL.
