Transplant Nephrology opening near Boston, MALocated in Burlington, MA; Boston 2mFull Time/PermanentEmployedEMR: EPICAssistant, Associate, or Full Professor rank334 inpatient hospital beds and is a Level 1 trauma centerThere are over 450 combined patients on our kidney transplant waiting list and in the evaluation processApproximately 50-66 kidney transplants are performed every year, of which approximately 25 are living donor kidney transplants, including enrollment through the NKRWe have excellent outcomes for our donors and recipientsThe successful candidate will join a dedicated team of 2 transplant nephrologists, 5 transplant surgeons, 2 surgical fellows, 5 hepatologists and one hepatology fellowCall is shared between our faculty of 11 nephrologists and transplant nephrologistsResponsibilities include:Pre-transplant clinic evaluationsKidney transplant wait list appointmentsDonor evaluationsInpatient coveragePost-transplant nephrology clinicDetermining suitability of organs from medically complex deceased donorsManaging renal replacement therapy (CRRT, HD and PD) on the inpatient kidney and liver transplant serviceAdministrative duties include:Development of clinical protocolsReferral reviewCandidate selection committee participationDonor selection committee participationMulti-disciplinary roundsQAPI meetingsHospital department meetingsM and M conferencesThe System is the high-quality, low-cost alternative, poised for increasing and continued success in the new health care environment as evidenced by the increase in hospital volume last year of 4% in a market that declined in hospital volume by 3.5%.
