Academic Medicine: Comprehensive and Subspecialty Physicians:
Massachusetts Eye and Ear, Boston, MAThe Department of
Ophthalmology of Massachusetts Eye and Ear and Massachusetts
General Hospital is recruiting physicians and clinician scientists
with a strong interest in:
- Comprehensive Ophthalmology and Cataract Surgery.
- Glaucoma - Glaucoma fellowship required.
- Inherited Retinal Disorders (IRD) - seeking an early-stage
clinician-scientist. Candidates with lab or clinically based
research interests are welcome. IRD or Medical Retina fellowship
required.
- Medical Retina - Medical Retina or Vitreoretinal Surgery
fellowship required.
- Neuro-ophthalmology - Neuro-ophthalmology fellowship required,
ophthalmology residency training preferred.
- Ophthalmology Emergency, Consult, and Hospitalist Service -
seeking ophthalmologic hospitalist, which is an ophthalmologist who
provides patient care in an ophthalmic emergency room, as well as
inpatient and general emergency room consults; non-surgical
although opportunity for procedures; includes resident education.
Ophthalmology residency required, fellowship training not
required.Our opportunities include practice locations on our main
campus in Boston and at our satellite locations in the greater
Boston area. Providers based at satellite locations have
opportunities to participate in trainee teaching and typically have
some duties at one of the Boston locations.These are full-time
positions for board-certified/board-eligible physicians with
applicable training and eligibility for full licensure in the
Commonwealth of Massachusetts and include academic appointments
with Harvard Medical School at the Instructor, Assistant Professor
or Associate Professor, full or part-time, level.The successful
candidates will have excellent professional skills and strong
interest in expanding and building the practice. Enthusiasm and
skill in teaching residents and/or fellows are required for
hospitalist positions and practice locations with an academic
