Morrison Lab in the CRI at UT Southwestern in Dallas, Texas is
looking for a Research Technician that will assist the research
staff with performing experimental work and data collection under
the general supervision of a postdoctoral researcher. The ideal
candidate will be comfortable handling live mice for experimental
and husbandry purposes. The candidate will also be responsible for
performing basic wet lab procedures such as PCR, tissue culture,
reagent prep, etc.The Morrison lab's goal is to better understand
the mechanisms that regulate stem cell function and how cancer
cells hijack these mechanisms to enable tumor formation. A better
understanding of these mechanisms offers the potential for new
regenerative medicine and cancer therapies. For more information

- A bachelor's degree in biology or related area of science is
required.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize
time-sensitive work and multitask effectively.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate
with a large team of technicians and researchers.
- Prior wet lab experience preferred.
- Prior experience handling mice preferred but not
required.Physical RequirementsRemaining in a normal seated or
standing position for extended periods of time; reaching and
grasping by extending hand(s) or arm(s); dexterity to manipulate
objects with fingers, for example using a keyboard; communication
skills using the spoken word; ability to see and hear within normal
parameters; ability to move about workspace. The position requires
mobility, including the ability to move materials weighing up to
several pounds (such as a laptop computer or tablet). Work may
involve possible exposure to malodorous vapors, low dose radiation,
