with deep expertise in the application of biophysical methods in
drug discovery to join the Structural Biology organization within
Takeda's Global Biologics organization. The ideal candidate will
possess a strong background in multiple biophysical techniques and
apply this expertise towards understanding and optimizing small
molecule-protein and protein-protein interactions as well as
biologics developability. A successful candidate will contribute to
multiple programs by generating results from internal and external
(CRO-based) biophysics efforts and effectively collaborating with
structural biologists, protein chemists, biophysics experts,
project team members, and department management to advance Takeda's
research pipeline.The successful candidate will:
- Serve as a subject matter expert for biophysics for Structural
Biology and Global Biologics, applying knowledge and insights for
small molecule binding and optimization, antigen activity
validation, and biologics developability assessment.
- Design, execute, and analyze critical experiments using a
variety of biophysical methods (SPR, ITC, DLS, DSF, etc.) with a
high level of independence and collaboration to support hit
validation, lead optimization, mechanism of inhibition studies,
epitope mapping, biologic development tractability, and structural
biology enablement for small molecule and/or biologics drug
discovery.
- Collaborate and effectively communicate biophysical information
and results to a variety of audiences in multiple settings
including biophysical experts across departments, colleagues within
Structural Biology and Global Biologics, diverse project teams, and
department/research management.
