Job Title: Commodity ManagerLocation: Greater Boston, MAPosition
Overview:The Commodity Manager is responsible for implementing the
sourcing strategy and making informed sourcing decisions that
balance continuity, risk, total landed costs, cycle time, on-time
delivery, and product quality. This role requires close
collaboration with internal teams and suppliers to optimize
purchasing, improve processes, and drive cost-effective
solutions.Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of purchasing, sourcing, and supplier
relationship management for indirect categories.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop solutions
that improve quality, streamline schedules, standardize processes,
and reduce costs.
- Lead RFx activities (RFPs, RFQs, etc.) to identify and evaluate
alternative suppliers, ensuring uninterrupted supply of goods and
services.
- Conduct supplier performance reviews and cultivate partnerships
with both new and existing suppliers.
- Stay current on industry best practices, emerging technologies,
and trends, sharing knowledge with team members and business
partners.
- Assess supplier capabilities and develop sources for new
technologies and market opportunities in line with evolving
business requirements.
- Ensure all purchasing activities are conducted in accordance
with company policies, while safeguarding the company's interests
and securing the best value, balancing price, quality, and
delivery.Key Competencies & Skills:

effectively prioritizing tasks and managing workload to meet
deadlines.
- Strong decision-making skills with a sense of urgency to drive
timely outcomes.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the
ability to build and maintain positive relationships with internal
teams and external partners.
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities and performing well
under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Expertise in supplier alignment, should-cost analysis, and
managing indirect commodities.
- Proven ability to influence stakeholders and guide them towards
improved supply strategies.Required Qualifications &
Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related
field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in indirect purchasing or
sourcing within a Manufacturing Organization (preferably within
industries including but not limited to; Semiconductor, Heavy
Manufacturing, Industrial's, Life Sciences including Pharmaceutical
Manufacturing, Biotechnology, or Medical Device)
- Experience in contract negotiation and development.
- Experience in a high-tech or semiconductor manufacturing
environment is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and SAP, with strong
computer literacy.
