We are looking to hire key talent to support our growing geotechnical and geoenvironmental design practice. We are seeking applicants with 10+ years of experience in geotechnical and/or geoenvironmental design. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the development of complex geotechnical and geoenvironmental designs and will collaborate with project teams to accomplish design goals.Your new roleAs our new Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you will work on complex projects involving the permitting, management, remediation, modification, and closure of industrial waste impoundments, water and tailings dams, and contaminated sites.Your key responsibilities will be:

• Supporting the conceptual design, permitting, final design, and construction of geoenvironmental remediation systems (cutoff walls, barriers, closures and caps, groundwater management systems, etc) for industrial waste impoundments and contaminated sites.
• Supporting the assessment of dam safety and management practices.
• Performing construction quantity takeoffs and cost estimating.
• Working with experienced Ramboll engineering and CAD staff to develop engineering drawings, technical specifications, and CQA plans.
• Performing geotechnical calculations including seepage, slope stability, seismic and liquefaction assessments, settlement analyses, etc.
• Providing verbal and/or written inputs to multi-disciplinary project teams and contribute to providing high level strategic advice to clients.
• Developing proposals with detailed scopes, timelines, pricing, and budgets.
• Providing technical direction for routine and unique or complex projects.
• Planning, scheduling, conducting, and/or coordinating engineering work involving conventional engineering practices.
• Preparing workplans and client reports.
• Supervising less experienced engineers or technical support personnel on projects.

  • Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering with a concentration in Geotechnical Engineering.
  • Masters Degree in Civil Engineering with a concentration in Geotechnical Engineering.
  • 10+ years of experience in geotechnical and/or geoenvironmental design.
  • Working knowledge of State and Federal Environmental Regulations and Guidance.
  • Registered Professional Engineer.
  • Ability to travel internationally.
  • Proficiency with discipline-specific design software (e.g., ArcGIS, GeoSlope, Ensoft) or similar.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word and Powerpoint.What we can offer you
