Automation Engineer to explore systems applications across many

Emerson DeltaV Distributed Control Systems (DCS) at customer sites.

- Develop Functional Requirements Specifications (FRS), Detailed
Design Specifications (DDS), and Test Scripts
- Design, configure, test, and maintain DeltaV Control Systems
Applications
- Conduct site acceptance testing (SAT) and provide supporting
documentation
- Perform control system loop checks
- Ability to read and interpret piping and instrument diagrams
(P&IDs) and logic descriptions
- Act as the overall technical lead
- Ensure software project execution is accurate, documented, and
delivered on time
- Improve engineering efficiency of the team through training and
utilization of engineers and technicians
- Develop, adopt, and maintain a budget for a control system
project
- Write automation-based engineering proposals
- Communicate effectively and technically with multi-disciplinary
teams
- Lead team of 2-4 people to manage an area and review work
- Collect customer data and utilize it to design control
strategies
- Participate in the start-up of Distributed Control Systems
(DCS) at customer sites
- Provide support of the daily manufacturing operation for
process optimizationRequirements
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related field
- Provide leadership in the development and implementation of
engineering policies, procedures, and standards
- Work well with large teams and willing to train others
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to commute to customer sites within the greater Boston
Area with some possible travel within the US or abroadSkills
Required
- 5 years of process automation control systems engineering
experience with Distributed Control Systems (DCS), with a strong
preference for DeltaV
- Experience with Bus technologies and OPC communication
- Process control knowledge
- Specific knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices
(cGMP)
- Design, implement, and test complex DeltaV Batch Unit
Operations
- Field instrumentation installation and troubleshooting
- Familiarity with computer networks Knowledge of cGxP systems
and procedures
