RESIDENT ENGINEER - BOSTON, MAKeville Enterprises, Inc., an established Construction Management and Inspection firm, is seeking qualified candidates to serve as a full-time, Resident Engineer (R.E.) on public agency projects in the Boston Massachusetts area. A conscientious individual, with a positive attitude, is required.RESPONSIBILITIES:The R.E. will be serving as an owner/agency representative on their capital construction program. The R.E. will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the management and oversight of the construction contractor;
  • Helping to manage field inspectors' duties;
  • Ensuring that all work is performed in accordance with construction contract plans and specifications;
  • Inspecting the work;
  • Ensuring that the contractor is in compliance with the approved quality control plan;
  • Supporting the project's safety plan;
  • Coordinating the requirements of the owner/agency;
  • Reviewing the contractor's schedule updates;
  • Reviewing the contractor's requests for payment;
  • Reviewing and processing contractor submittals;
  • Leading weekly project status meetings;
  • Attending other meetings as required;
  • Reviewing reports for cost, schedule, budget, inspection, submittal status, change order status, and other reports;
  • Developing various project-related reports;
  • Utilizing the owner/agency's project status software;
  • Analyzing, estimating, and supporting negotiation of change orders;
  • Resolving construction problems/conflicts;
  • Managing and leading field office staff;
  • Other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Candidates must have a bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related degree.
  • Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of resident engineering and/or office engineering experience, preferably on highway and bridge construction.
  • Certifications in welding, concrete, and/or other quality control tasks are greatly preferred (Keville may fund additional training and certifications as required by the client).
  • Candidates must have excellent communication skills, excellent writing ability, demonstrated ability to get along with all personality types, and strong computer skills.
  • Experience in program management systems (Sharepoint), Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • The position is not a licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) and a P.E. is not required.OTHER: Must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with Keville's driving policy.
