We have an opportunity for an ambitious, self motivated person to join our forward thinking team as an Electrical Engineer. In this role you will be the primary point of contact between electrical and engineering; assisting both our standard production line and our custom team, where needed. Your contribution will be pivotal in ensuring projects hit all timing and fiscal benchmarks. You will be expected to develop designs, propose solutions, and generate BOM's, accurately and efficiently. In this role you will have the opportunity to work on some very interesting projects for industry leading clients. This will all be accomplished with the latest technology and the full support of engineering, manufacturing, and service.

Primary responsibilities

  • Perform calculations related to control panel design including power distribution. Experience performing and documenting Electrical Load Analyses (ELAs) on single, dual and 3 phase applications.
  • Develop solutions aimed at increased efficiency and repeatability.
  • Develop and iterate on control panel and electrical device layouts.
  • Create all wiring diagrams in Solidworks electrical, following all ANSI & IEC standards.
  • Generate and execute engineering change orders.
  • Generate Bill of Material that satisfies customer specifications and system specifics
  • Create and maintain work procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with all IEC, NEC, CE, and, IPC requirements, including UL508A & UL610101.
  • Troubleshoot existing designs and develop creative improvements for efficiency and surge capability, along with testing and manufacturing throughput.
  • Assist in debugging field wiring issues with electricians.
  • Define electrical components to be used in an electrical control system.
  • Review and comment on supplier data as required.
  • Designing alternative and/or replacement parts for existing equipment.
  • Working with purchasing for part availability and cost.
    Skills
    • Knowledge of 2D CAD software is required, SolidWorks Electrical strongly preferred
    • Knowledge of industrial control systems, required.
    • Knowledge of electrical wiring troubleshooting, required.
    • Five or more years of Electrical Engineering experience, required
    • A four year degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, preferred.
    • Five or more years of designing schematics for electrical control panels, preferred.
    • Wire Harness Design experience, preferred.
    • Knowledge of electrical codes including NFPA 79, NEC, and UL 61010 / UL 508A, preferred.
    • Good mechanical aptitude and knowledge, required.
    • Great communication skills, required
    • Great attention to detail, required
    • Familiarity with current electrical engineering trends.
