Full TimeSummaryAs a Senior Customs Specialist at DSV, you will be
responsible for managing and coordinating customs compliance
activities for the company's transportation and logistics
operations. You will ensure that all import and export activities
comply with local and international regulations, and work closely
with customers, vendors, and government agencies to facilitate the
smooth movement of goods across borders.Duties and
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement customs compliance policies and
procedures
- Ensure compliance with local and international regulations
related to customs and trade
- Review and analyze import and export documentation to identify
potential compliance issues
- Provide guidance and training to staff on customs compliance
requirements
- Work with customers and vendors to ensure timely and accurate
customs documentation
- Communicate with government agencies on behalf of DSV to
resolve compliance issues and obtain necessary permits and
licenses
- Monitor changes to customs regulations and adjust company
policies and procedures accordingly
- Manage the customs clearance process for DSV's clients,
including classification, valuation, and duty payment
- Perform audits and assessments to ensure compliance with
customs regulations
- Provide support to other departments as needed on customs
compliance issuesEducational background / Work experience
- Bachelor's degree in international business, logistics, or a
related field
- Certification in customs compliance (e.g., Certified Customs
Specialist, Certified Export Specialist)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in customs compliance, with at
least 3 years in a supervisory or leadership role
- Experience working in the transportation and logistics
industrySkills & Competencies
- In-depth knowledge of local and international customs
regulations and trade laws
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software
applications
- Familiarity with trade compliance software and
systemsSupervisory ResponsibilitiesMay supervise a team of customs
specialists.Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in international business, logistics, or a
related field
- Experience working with customs brokers, freight forwarders, or
other transportation service providers
- Experience with SAP Global Trade Services or similar trade
compliance software
- Knowledge of customs regulations in specific regions (e.g.,
Europe, Asia)Language skillsFluent in English (oral and
written)Computer LiteracyProficient in Microsoft Office
applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Experience
with trade compliance software and systems, such as SAP Global
Trade Services or Descartes Customs Info, preferred.At Will

/ Annual. Actual base compensation will be determined based on
