Job Description:
Duties: The Director, Product will work within the Global Asset
Allocation group as an institutional subject matter product expert. The
Director will contribute to the establishment of a vision for meeting diverse
customer needs across retail, defined contribution and intermediary
distribution channels, which align with investment needs and core
capabilities. Primary Responsibilities: • Contribute to Fidelity’s investment product universe
through engagement with business unit personnel across asset management,
product management and distribution channels. • Engage in discussions with distribution channel partners and
client facing teams to gather the voice of the customer, client demands
and opportunities, and gap assessment for the development of product
strategy. • Design and introduce new investment capabilities based on
needs identified through product strategy development discussions. • Provide positioning, messaging, insight and transparency
for existing strategies. • Support the development of product collateral with the
Asset Management Marketing team. • Conduct attribution analysis and investment performance
reporting. • Direct and execute various analyses, including market
analysis, internal investment capability assessment, competitor
intelligence deep dives, customer research, product assessment, and financial analysis/modeling. • Research industry product trends, competitors, customers, regulatory changes, and/or technology changes to develop new
product insights and conclusions. • Interact with Fidelity personnel at various levels,
including senior executives, to gather data and build consensus. • Prepare investment content and presentations for product positioning in collaboration with Marketing to make
presentations to senior executives. Requirements: Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent)
in Business, Finance, Business Administration or a closely related
field and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or five (5)
years of experience in strategic business process transformation, project
strategy analysis, and program management. Candidate must also possess:
Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) in business, operations and distribution model
analytics of financial institutions (broker-dealers, traditional and
alternate asset managers, pension plan sponsors, financial advisory firms,
private banks, or trust companies); DE in strategic analysis of retail and
institutional investment products (mutual funds, alternate funds [hedge funds,
private equity and venture capital funds], ETFs, fund-of-fund
structures, mutual fund wraps, and managed accounts); DE in investment product
strategy development, including industry analysis (forecasting and risk
analysis), customer research, secondary research, competitive benchmarking,
process redesign, and program/product management; and developing and
delivering business and product strategy presentations and models to
influence senior management and client executives of financial institutions in
strategic business decision-making; and DE in business planning,
quantitative modeling and analysis, financial modeling and analysis,
product/service evaluation, opportunity identification, and business case
