Job Description:
Duties: Will work within Fidelity’s emerging technology research
and development program, fully dedicated to Bitcoin and blockchain
related areas. Primary Responsibilities: • Serve as Ecosystem and Project Manager to foster, maintain,
and expand direct relationships with key industry players and
potential partners; and connect academic/research programs, collaborative
Research and Development programs, and industry events/conferences
programming providers with Fidelity business units and other internal
departments. • Develop an external presence/voice and set the foundation
for future business development activity with relevant companies,
development groups, and individuals. • Identify, pursue, and coordinate opportunities with
external parties for educational and project/product-based partnerships
and coordination. • Foster collaboration with and solicit feedback from
internal leadership, product/technology teams, business lines, customers,
and external partners. • Develop focused project/product proposals, establish clear objectives and parameters for project activities, and guide them
through organizational approval. • Organize, plan, and lead execution of projects and
development activities, and/or facilitate the seamless handoff of such
responsibilities to a dedicated manager in the future. • Serve as a subject matter expert responsible for maintaining a
deep understanding of the technology, ecosystem, industry landscape,
and current developments in the Bitcoin and blockchain space. • Provide regular reports, educational programming, and
internal resources to both the leadership team and the broader
organization. • Champion the commitment to internal learning, continued exploration, and potential future involvement within the
area. • Conduct analysis and proactive assessment of prospects, opportunities, threats, and risks to established industries and
their incumbents. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education
equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology,
Information Systems, Mathematics, Applied Mathematics - Economics, Physics, or a
closely related field and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or two
(2) years of experience designing and implementing information technology
solutions within a financial services operations and product development
environment. Candidate must also possess: Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”)
designing organizational structures and tools for innovation management to
identify and design new financial products and services and continuous
process improvements using Design Thinking and Distributed
Brainstorming methodologies and crowdsourcing tools (Spigit); DE evaluating
opportunities through primary and secondary research and analysis, including
peer review processes as well as hackathons and Lean Startup methodologies;
and evaluating emerging technologies and vendor solutions to support
the design of system architectures and development of proof of concepts,
according to Agile methodologies; DE analyzing and assisting in the
development of technology solutions that utilize distributed databases,
blockchains, crypotgraphic proofs, and consensus algorithms -- including
Bitcoin and Ethereum cryptocurrencies -- within an asset management or
digital payments environment; DE in business and systems analysis, including
developing product proposals and strategic plans based on market
requirements under regulatory compliance for financial products and using Agile,
Waterfall, or Kanban methodologies to collaborate with cross-functional,
