Job Description:
Working under the direction of the Technical Writing Manager 1,
will be responsible for writing online help content on how to use
MathWorks controls tools; writing documentation and examples that show
creative ways to analyze and design control systems; being a part of a
multi- disciplinary team and helping shape the design of cutting-edge
software; writing user-focused online content that explains key control
concepts and solutions to end users; developing examples and tutorials to
show how to use software to solve control systems problems;
identifying missing topics and filling gaps in existing information;
collaborating with team members to plan, research, write, and update
documentation; participating in the development of control systems products,
reviewing software requirements and functional designs, providing comments
and suggesting improvements; and helping MathWorks develop next
generation online resources. Education and Experience: Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in
Engineering, Computer Science, or Technical Writing and two (2) years of
experience in job offered or two (2) years of experience in technical
writing, teaching, or development of control systems. OR Ph.D. degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Engineering,
Computer Science, or Technical Writing and no experience. OR Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in
Engineering, Computer Science, or Technical Writing and six (6) years of
experience in job offered or six (6) years of experience in technical
writing, teaching, or development of control systems. Special Requirements: • Demonstrated expertise in development, technical writing,
or teaching of discrete-time control systems, continuous-time
control systems, and control engineering concepts -- PID controls and
Bode plots. • Demonstrated expertise in development, technical writing,
or teaching of fuzzy logic systems. • Demonstrated expertise developing technical documentation or
-- university-level curriculum or laboratory tutorials -- of
control systems or fuzzy logic systems. • Demonstrated expertise programming in MATLAB. [Experience and/or expertise may be gained during Graduate
