Job Description:

Working under the direction of the Engineering Manager 1, will be

responsible for profiling toolbox code to identify performance

bottlenecks, gathering customers' performance requirements, and

comparing toolbox performance to third-party products; using parallel

algorithms, data structures, and frameworks as well as hardware-

optimized instructions (e.g., SIMD) and libraries to make functionality

run as quickly as possible on modern processors; helping support

customers' ever-growing datasets and imagery; helping modernize a mature

codebase written in C++ and MATLAB; and working closely with engineers

on the Image Processing Toolbox team and in other parts of the

development organization to define requirements for new features,

prioritizing algorithms, review designs, and integrating new technology.

Education and Experience:

Master’s degree or higher (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer

Science, Engineering, or Information Technology and no experience.

OR

Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science,

Engineering, or Information Technology and five (5) years of experience

in job offered or five (5) years of experience in development or

technical support of image processing or computer vision applications

and systems.

Special Requirements:

• Demonstrated expertise prototyping and developing image

processing algorithms using C, C++, and MATLAB; and developing high

performance 3D volume image analysis algorithms

using MATLAB and C++.

• Demonstrated expertise developing, testing, or supporting image

processing and computer vision applications using Threaded Building

Blocks (TBB), Intel Integrated Performance Primitives (IPP), and OpenCV

libraries.

• Demonstrated expertise in UI design for 3D volume visualization

systems using C++ and MATLAB.
