Job Description:
Working under the direction of the Engineering Manager 1, will
be responsible for designing and developing software tools that build
MathWorks documentation for the web and in MathWorks’ products; supporting
the authoring tools used by writers to produce documentation content
and improving writer interfaces and workflows; supporting and
extending XML-based authoring and production tools; developing and supporting tools
to meet website and product requirements for documentation; supporting
integration of documentation with source control and build systems; automating
authoring tasks; and researching and implementing creative solutions based
on writers requirements. Education and Experience: Master’s degree or higher (or foreign education equivalent) in
Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or Technical
Communication and Information Design and no experience. OR Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in
Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or Technical Communication and
Information Design and five (5) years of experience in job offered or five
(5) years of experience in development or technical support of XML-based
authoring tools. Special Requirements: • Demonstrated expertise designing and developing XSL templates
for rendering XML content into HTML format. • Demonstrated expertise authoring and publishing technical documentation using DITA or DocBook XML-based publishing
systems; and maintaining and enhancing XML-based web publishing systems using
CSS and JavaScript or Java. • Demonstrated expertise developing technical documentation
for electrical engineering-based hardware and software technology
systems. • Demonstrated expertise converting Arbortext XML data using
Arbortext Styler or XSL/XSL-FO, into HTML and PDF formats. [Expertise may be gained during Graduate program.] For the position listed above, interested candidates may search
