Job Description:

Working under the direction of the Industry Marketing Manager, will be

responsible for developing and executing plans to drive increased adoption

of MATLAB and Simulink products worldwide, with particular focus on North

America and Europe; providing Robotics subject matter expertise to

Automotive, ADAS, and other relevant MathWorks segment managers and

collaborating with the relevant Sales and Applications Engineering teams;

working closely with product marketing and product development teams at

MathWorks to develop the industry strategy, marketing message, supporting

content, and marketing plan; contributing to the long-term technology

prospects and goals; providing a marketing message that affects industry and

customer perceptions of MathWorks; monitoring industry trends and their

relation to MathWorks product development plans; providing direction and

guidance to North America and Europe based sales and services personnel for

the Robotics market; meeting with customers to understand their needs and

develop messaging for how MathWorks' products address challenges in Robotics

and Autonomous Systems; collaborating directly with sales teams in support

of key sales opportunities and with key customers to drive product adoption;

develop strategies with account managers to increase account penetration and

build best practices for effectively increasing sales worldwide; promoting

awareness of MathWorks within the Robotics and Autonomous Systems market in

North America and Europe; developing marketing programs and supporting

materials, and using the web to effectively drive promotion, and share best

practices with Asia Pacific; producing articles, technical papers, and user

stories in support of Robotics; presenting at conferences and industry

events and serving as the Robotics spokesperson; developing business

strategy for Robotics and Autonomous Systems northeastern America;

developing and executing the Robotics and Autonomous Systems market strategy

and business plan and reviewing progress on it with an internal “board of

advisors” together with relevant Industry and Market Segment managers;

working with engineering staff to capture key customer needs and developing

new features and products to support these needs; provide analysis of

MathWorks Robotics and Autonomous Systems business performance, identifying

new market opportunities, and developing plans to increase penetration and

growth; and identifying and working with critical partners to provide a

complete solution for customer needs.

Education and Experience:

Master’s degree or higher (or foreign education equivalent) in Engineering

or Computer Science and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or

three (3) years of experience in product management, product marketing, or

engineering development of robotics and autonomous hardware and software

systems.

OR

Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Engineering or

Computer Science and six (6) years of experience in the job offered or six

(6) years of experience in product management, product marketing, or

engineering development of robotics and autonomous hardware and software

systems.

Special Requirements:

• Demonstrated expertise performing market research analysis,

competitive assessment analysis, and gap analysis in target market segments

-- ground robots, unmanned aerial vehicles, and manipulators -- within the

robotics and autonomous systems industry.

• Demonstrated expertise performing qualitative and quantitative sales

and customer data analytics to support recommendations for new products and

existing product enhancements for robotics and autonomous systems

development.

• Demonstrated expertise developing marketing and sales presentation

materials, including business case analysis and workflows to drive internal

organizational alignment on new product offerings and inform conversations

with internal stakeholders on strategic marketing and sales planning.

• Demonstrated expertise in agile or model-based development

(functional specification, storyboarding, sprint planning and resource

management) or market adoption (market segmentation, marketing campaigns,

customer advocacy for new product features, competitive analysis and counter

measures, customer experience management and rapid response) of consumer

robotic systems.
