Job Description:
Working under the direction of the Engineering Manager, will
be responsible for utilizing web development experience to make
new applications and improvements to applications in eSupport and
Search areas of our web site; working with business areas and User
Experience to gather requirements and creating functional specifications;
making feature enhancements and bug fixes in our eSupport and search
web applications; working closely with Quality Engineering group to
ensure test cases and plans are appropriately developed; designing
and implementing changes to our search based web applications in
improving their search relevancy; working with business areas to develop
and document requirements and functional specifications; creating
technical specifications and working with Architecture to review those specifications; collaborating with User Experience and designers
to develop workflows and page designs; working with Quality
Engineers to ensure test cases and plans are appropriately developed and
adhered to; developing flexible integration with back office applications,
ensuring SLAs are met; and working with infrastructure team to ensure
our applications support high performance and availability. Education and Experience: Master’s degree or higher (or foreign education equivalent)
in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology,
Information Systems or Software Systems and no experience. OR Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in
Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems
or Software Systems and five (5) years of experience in the job
offered or five (5) years of experience developing Java based web
applications. Special Requirements: • Demonstrated expertise designing and implementing algorithms
to enhance search relevancy of search-based web applications using
Lucene engine. • Demonstrated expertise indexing and querying data using
Apache SOLR and Solrj library. • Demonstrated expertise in object oriented analysis and
design, and developing highly scalable Java/J2EE web applications using
HTML, CSS and JavaScript. • Demonstrated expertise creating and consuming RESTful Java
