Job Description:
Working under the direction of the Engineering Senior Team Lead
3, will be responsible for utilizing web development skills to advance
our online learning applications, APIs and integration framework as
we drive the MATLAB and Simulink Online Learning platform forward;
working directly with our training group, customers, academic
institutions and online learning platform providers; developing features and
enhancements to evolve our Online Learning systems into next generation
learning platform for MATLAB & Simulink; collaborating in a fast paced
Agile environment; working with cross functional teams to define and
document requirements, and create technical designs and architecture
documents; working with Quality Engineers to ensure test cases and plans
are appropriately developed and adhered to; working with learning
content creators to build out MathWorks training in the platform; and
focusing on improving performance, availability and scalability of the
platform. Education and Experience: Master’s degree or higher (or foreign education equivalent) in
Computer Science, Engineering or Information Technology and no
experience. OR Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer
Science, Engineering or Information Technology and five (5) years of
experience in job offered or five (5) years of experience in full stack
Ruby on Rails web application development. Special Requirements: • Demonstrated expertise developing and unit testing dynamic
web applications using Ruby on Rails, HTML, CSS, JavaScript and
JQuery; and testing frameworks Rspec, Capybara or RackTest for Ruby on Rails
and Qunit or Jasmine for JavaScript. • Demonstrated expertise using data structures and applying algorithms for code optimization and code reuse using Ruby Gems
and APIs. • Demonstrated expertise developing web application
interfaces with external Java webservices according to design patterns. • Demonstrated expertise writing object oriented database
queries using Active Record or SQL query scripts on MSSQL or MySQL
